Innovative e-Learning

Proposer: Sonia Berman

Abbreviation: eLearn

Brief Description: This project will use free and open source software to produce a novel learning environment. The targeted market can range from primary school children to adults, and the material from basic knowledge such as good nutrition habits to specific subjects such as poetry or SQL. User-centred design will be important as will appropriate evaluation of the final product.

Computer Science Content: Databases, HCI, e-Learning

Specific Learning Outcomes: dealing with multimedia data; working with end users

Skills Required by Team as a Whole:

  • Theory: No theoretical component

  • Implementation: The focus is on design, implementation and validation of software. Experimental design is also expected.

Facilities needed: No special requirements.

Supervision: Weekly meetings with students

Number of Students: 2 or 3
