Honours Scholarships @ CAIR - Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research

The Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research offers merit based scholarships for Honours studies in Computer Science at the University of Cape Town. The scholarships are funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), as part of the ICT Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Roadmap implementation. Advances in ICT supported by the RDI Roadmap aim to guide South Africa to a state of digital advantage that will strengthen economic competitiveness and enable an enhanced quality of life for all South Africans. The scholarships will be administered by the CSIR and the Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research (CAIR).

These scholarships are intended for supporting students that have an interest in Artificial Intelligence.
Successful applicants will register for a full-time Honours degree in Computer Science at the University of Cape Town.

Eligibility criteria:
 BSc degree in Computer Science or equivalent;
 Academic excellence at all preceding academic levels.

Honours scholarships will be R75 000 for one year. Scholarships will be awarded primarily on merit but will also take into account the collective demographic composition of recipients.

Application process:
Applications should include the following:
 A short narrative on why you are interested in Artificial Intelligence (max. 1 page);
 Full academic record, including all tertiary results;
 Abbreviated curriculum vitae of at most one page.
